DISQUIET GODS IS OUT IN PAPERBACK THIS MONTH

If you've been waiting for the sixth book to come out in paperback, your wait is almost over. DISQUIET GODS arrives in paperback on December 17--just barely, barely in time for Christmas. This edition is once more printed by DAW Books and will perfectly match the other US paperback editions.

WHERE ARE THE HARDCOVERS FOR BOOKS 4-6?

We made DAW Books history this year with the reprints of EMPIRE OF SILENCE, HOWLING DARK, and DEMON IN WHITE--the first "dead" hardcovers the company ever brought back into print in their 50-year history--but we're not done yet.
The last book, SHADOWS UPON TIME, will be hitting shelves before the end of AD 2025, and by the time that book comes out the entire series will be available in hardcover from DAW Books once again. I do not have better dates for you than to say they will be out next year, but they WILL be out next year.

Well enough! I'm in the last 20% of the book or so, with still a couple months of work left in me. The manuscript currently stands at 326K words, with the estimated finished length of the first draft at just around 400K words.
This is enormously long. Too long. My goal is to trim it down to something like its current size. This will be the longest Sun Eater book--no way around that--but it will undergo significant trimming once I've finished the draft. My goal is to finish in January, and to have it to the editor in February, with the aim of finishing major revisions by the end of June (that being the latest I can have it to the copyeditor while ensuring it can still come out next year).
On a more immediate note, however, I should be seeing cover art sketches for the last book from Kieran Yanner this month! Expect the cover reveal in the early parts of next year!

The Broken Binding has already started artwork on KINGDOMS OF DEATH and ASHES OF MAN. Those will launch in the second half on next year.

This was a relatively last minute thing, but I will be at Brandon Sanderson's Dragonsteel Nexus December 5-7 in Salt Lake City, UT. I'll be signing and selling books all weekend at the WriterDojo booth with Larry Correia and Steve Diamond, so come say hello!
It was NOT POSSIBLE for me to organize an off-site event during my time in Salt Lake. I'm very sorry. The logistics for planning the convention took a lot more time and attention than I anticipated, and combining that with the energy needed to conclude the Diamond Edition mailing...it was just not possible to get everything I wanted to do done.
But never fear--Utah is one of my favorite states in the union: I'm sure I'll be back!
