SHADOWS UPON TIME IS FINISHED
|
|
It is finished.
About five days ago, I wrote the last line of the last volume of The Sun Eater. SHADOWS UPON TIME stands complete (in its first draft) at 433K words. That is longer than KINGDOMS OF DEATH and ASHES OF MAN combined.
It won't stay that long. My general policy is to write too much and to rein myself in. My goal is to have the finished draft weigh in at around 350K, but we shall see what we shall see.
The book is with my editor at the moment (I had previously delivered a partial file to him to start working on, since it's so long). He says he expects to be finished next week. The revisions will need to be finished by June 30 in order to keep our schedule, but that should be more than possible.
SHADOWS UPON TIME will be released on November 18. Rather than take a break, I am taking my "week off' to write another Adaman short story. I've been sitting on this one for the last couple of months, and I really want to write another one. My goal is to finish it by Sunday and to have it prepped for the Patreon next month. One of my goals for this year is to produce 3 original Adaman stories for the Patreon, and this one will be the first. Look for it next month.
I also sent TALES OF THE SUN EATER, VOL. 4 to the typesetter yesterday. Expect the cover reveal for that and the pre-order launch here relatively soon. TALES 4 will be out before SHADOWS UPON TIME--but I won't say exactly when here and now, since it is subject to some change.

HOWLING DARK | DIAMOND EDITION DELAYED
|

I've had to pause my work revising the text of HOWLING DARK for the Diamond Edition in order to ensure maximum attention can be paid to SHADOWS UPON TIME (and to allow me to catch up on all the other things I've left hanging). The artists are both still working on new pieces, but we'd rather work on things before taking your money rather than after.
That said, expect the cover reveal soon. Once I get a handle on the situation with book 7, it may be that editing on book 2 can resume in parallel. Until then, please be patient with me. I'm the holdup, not Steve or James or John.

THE MURDERED SUN (SLIGHTLY) DELAYED

For those of you who have been keeping up with the Anderida Books newsletter, THE MURDERED SUN is also delayed. Anderida Books' printer went out of business, but I believe was acquired by a new company and within a week or two things should be leveled off. You can read more about it at the link below.
In the meantime, Kieran Yanner is starting work on the art for their edition of HOWLING DARK here very soon. I think this week. EMPIRE OF SILENCE is ready to roll over there as well, and will release sometime after the release of THE MURDERED SUN. Lots happening there this year!

Petrik Leo and I are nearly finished working on the new art for the TBB editions of KINGDOMS OF DEATH and ASHES OF MAN. Peng Lu has finished all of his work on the books (he's actually finished DISQUIET GODS as well) and Rene Aigner should finish the last couple endpapers in the next month or so. I believe the art reveals for those will begin rolling out this month, so keep your eyes peeled! Books 4 and 5 will ship later this year, with 6 and 7 coming next year to complete the set!

Reprints of KINGDOMS OF DEATH and ASHES OF MAN are coming soon! DAW tells me that the hardcovers of books 4 and 5 will be available sometime in March or April. With these reprints, it's harder to get an exact date, because they aren't being formally re-released...they're just being reordered. This means I probably won't know it's happened until it's happened.
DISQUIET GODS will also be re-released in hardcover, later this year. I don't have any info on that yet, but I believe the plan is to re-release it before SHADOWS UPON TIME comes out in November.
