THE LAST BOOK NEARS COMPLETION

"Nears completion" is a relative statement, I'll say that right off the bat. I probably have about 100K words to go (and SHADOWS UPON TIME is already longer than DEMON IN WHITE, God help me), but those 100K should be nearly finished by the end of this calendar year.
The end of the year had been my original target date, and it still looks possible (although I admit I am more likely to finish the book sometime in January. As it stands, the book is current 290K words long (DEMON IN WHITE, for reference, is 287K words long). My spreadsheet currently estimates just around 400K, which means I should finish between the end of December and early February.
What does this mean for a release date, you ask?
The short answer is that I don't know yet! DAW have yet to set a date, but we are targeting late next year. This is the last book in the series, so everything needs to land just right, and we're not trying to rush things. That being said, my goal is to get this done just as quick as may be. The finish line is in sight, and I feel a bit re-energized as I enter the final lap.
Our goal in revision will be to shrink the book as much as humanly possible, as was done with DISQUIET GODS, but even after that, there's no way this won't be the longest Sun Eater outing to date!

This was a relatively last minute thing, but I will be at Brandon Sanderson's Dragonsteel Nexus December 5-7 in Salt Lake City, UT. I'll be signing and selling books all weekend at the WriterDojo booth with Larry Correia and Steve Diamond, so come say hello!
NOTE: I believe Dragonsteel is all sold out. I am trying to investigate the possibility of doing a signing apart from the convention, but given the relatively late hour at which this plan is coming together, it may not be possible.
NOTE 2: I will not be on panels or anything, just selling books at the booth!
